Landscapes of Milot
Once a wealthy French colony, Haiti is now the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Unemployment stands at 70%, and fewer than half the people over 15 can read. Potable water and access to electric power are a rarity for most citizens. Political and civil strife make progress difficult. And yet, hope among Haiti’s people persists, as does the lush, mountainous landscape, resplendent with natural beauty.
